Biggest Shareholder in Colonie, N.Y., Fuel Cell Maker to Sell Stock.(Knight Ridder/Tribune Business News)

Sep. 21--Plug Power Inc.'s largest individual shareholder recently notified the Securities and Exchange Commission his intent to sell up to 1.12 million shares of his stock.

Michael J. Cudahy declared his plans just two weeks after leaving his seat on Plug's board of directors. He had been slated to remain on the board through 2001.

Plug's chief operating officer, Greg Silvestri, painted Cudahy's moves as standard operating procedure for a venture capitalist looking to take some of the gains he realized as an early Plug backer and preparing to spread them elsewhere.
