Oct. 21--Two Britton women were recently honored for volunteer work by the American Cancer Society.
Carol Jones received the Volunteer Involvement of the Year Award and Pauline Nelson received the Courage Award during a recognition conference in Sioux Falls.
Jones has been an ACS volunteer since 1989. She has served as co-chairwoman of the local unit and was co-chairwoman of the 2000 Marshall County Relay For Life. She has also helped organize an annual tour of homes, community Christmas events and local health and education fairs.
Nelson has volunteered with ACS since 1983. She's involved with the Great American Smoke-Out each year, as well as a sun protection program. Additionally, she promotes breast self-exams and testicular self-exams...
