Nov. 14--LAS VEGAS--For billionaire entrepreneur Michael Dell, the personal computer era is not over.
An increasing number of technology companies and industry analysts have warned of the impending death of the PC in the past few years, pointing out that consumers have more options -- Web pads, Palm Pilots, and cellphones, to name a few -- through which they can access the Internet.
But in his keynote speech Monday in Las Vegas at Comdex -- the information technology industry's annual major trade show -- Dell emphasized that PCs are vital in today's Internet world.
