Hershey Foods Searches for CEO Successor.(Knight Ridder/Tribune Business News)

Nov. 16--Hershey Foods Corp. is searching for a successor to Chief Executive Officer Kenneth L. Wolfe, who will reach the company's traditional retirement age of 62 in February.
The Wall Street Journal reported Wednesday that the candymaker began its search six weeks ago and is primarily looking at candidates outside the company.
Michael E. Pasquale, who was named executive vice president and chief operating officer in February, had been viewed by analysts as Wolfe's heir apparent, but the Journal, quoting an unidentified source, said Pasquale "isn't expected to land the CEO job."
According to an anonymous letter sent in a Hershey Foods company envelope to The Patriot-News, the search for "an outsider" to replace Wolfe began around August....
