Montana-Based Mining Company to Reveal Companys Fate.(Knight Ridder/Tribune Business News)

Nov. 17--The fate of Montana Resources is expected to be made public today when the mine's management will release a statement.

" We'll have a statement tomorrow on the immediate future of the mine," Russ Ritter, director of corporate and government relations for the Washington Corp, said Thursday.

Billionaire industrialist Dennis Washington is a co-owner of the Butte copper and molybdenum mine. Grupo Mexico is the other partner.

However, Ritter said Thursday that the mine has been unsuccessful in finding suit able electrical power or " power we can afford." Finding an acceptable power supply is one of two mandates given by the mine's owners so that the idled facility could reopen.
