Middleton, Wis., Ford Dealer Moves to New Location.(Knight Ridder/Tribune Business News)

Dec. 7--Middleton Ford, a Downtown Middleton fixture since 1947, has moved to a nine-acre site at 7520 Century Avenue just west of Highway 12.
"Our previous site (at 7725 University Ave.) has been vacated except for one operation, and we'll be out of there by the end of the week," said Bob Hudson, Middleton Ford president.
Hudson said the new site has been in the planning stages for about six years and involved talks with the city and Ford on issues such as zoning and a suitable location.
The new 50,000 square foot, $3.1 million structure includes a showroom, expanded service department, a "quick" lane for oil changes, a body shop and parts department, he said.
