Dec. 15--ATLANTA--Foot soldiers of the Empire That Ted Built are about to find out what life will be like under an Internet powerhouse.
Turner Broadcasting System employees already know what it's like to be swallowed by a bigger fish. It happened to them four years ago, when their fiercely independent boss, Ted Turner, sold the company to New York-based Time Warner.
Now employees of one of Atlanta's most prominent companies are bracing for change again. This time, there seems to be less fear but lots of uncertainty.
Some of what might lie ahead for Turner's 10,000 employees could be painful: CNN workers wonder about possible job cuts. World Championship Wrestling could be cut loose. AOL may monkey with Turner's Internet plans. And Ted Turner...
