Dec. 14--IMAGINE GETTING BUILDING PERMITS WITHOUT STANDING IN LINE: Applying for a building permit is nobody's idea of fun and games. Although the City of Tacoma has greatly streamlined its process, an over-the-counter building permit application involves lots of waiting in line in most parts of the country, even for the simplest of projects.
