Stock of Dallas-Based DSL Equipment Company Sinks to 52-Week Low.(Knight Ridder/Tribune Business News)

Dec. 19--Efficient Networks Inc. fell to a 52-week low Monday on investors' concerns that the digital subscriber line equipment company is experiencing a slowdown along with its peers.

Efficient of Dallas, which has fallen more than 60 percent since October, closed at $14.56, down $3.75. The previous 52-week low of $15.75 was set on Dec. 5.

Monday's sell-off was prompted by an earnings warning from Terayon Communication Systems Inc., which makes equipment for cable modem systems.

Officials at the firm said weakening customer demand was going to push revenue and earnings lower than previously anticipated.

Efficient has been unfairly dragged down with other telecommunications stocks despite posting strong revenue and earnings growth...
