Delta Air Lines Cuts Its Flight Schedule.(Knight Ridder/Tribune Business News)

Jan. 5--Delta Air Lines is trimming its flight schedule an average of 2.7 percent through March as it anticipates a continued shortage of pilots, but the impact on South Florida travelers will be negligible.

Delta plans to cut less than 1 percent of its 2,700 daily flights in January, about 4 percent in February and 3.5 percent in March, said spokeswoman Cindi Kurczewski.

Most of Delta's eliminated flights are between cities with frequent service and redeye flights from Las Vegas to the East Coast. Many of the flights originate from Delta's Atlanta and Cincinnati hubs.
