Jan. 11--DURHAM, N.C.--Duke University ended a six-month search Wednesday by naming Doug Breeden, a finance professor and co-founder of one of the Triangle's best-known investment firms, as dean of its Fuqua School of Business.
Breeden, 50, a professor at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill's Kenan-Flagler Business School, will become Fuqua's fifth dean July 1. Duke President Nan Keohane said Breeden's experience as a manager of successful banking and investment firms made him an excellent choice to replace Rex Adams, who is stepping down after five years.
Breeden, whose appointment is subject to approval by the Duke University Board of Trustees, will be responsible for increasing the faculty by 50 percent in five years as well as...
