Several Retailers in Buffalo, N.Y.-Area Mall to Move into Larger Quarters.(Knight Ridder/Tribune Business News)

Jan. 12--As the Walden Galleria prepares for a $50 million expansion, the area's top shopping destination is making interim changes to upgrade its retail offerings.

Those changes involve bigger stores, in new locations, for several key tenants, according to Jim Soos, Galleria's general manager. Three of Gap Inc.'s nameplates, Gap, Gap Kids and Banana Republic, will be getting new, larger addresses.

"We're strengthening what we already have as we prepare to move to the next level," Soos said. ". . . We'll see the newest versions of some existing tenants."
