Feb. 1--NORFOLK, Va.--Margaret "Margot" Daniels Tyler, the right-hand person to Norfolk State University's president, is leaving for an executive job in the financial world.
Tyler, the chief of staff at Norfolk State since President Marie V. McDemmond took over in July 1997, will become manager of diversity for McKinsey & Co., an international management consulting firm, in Chicago.
At McKinsey, she will serve as chief operating officer of the Putting People First initiative. The program involves recruiting and retaining more minorities at McKinsey and promoting economic development in black communities both in the United States and worldwide.
