Oklahoma Legislators Listen to Opponents of Electricity Deregulation.

Feb. 14--National consumer advocates warned state lawmakers Tuesday that electric deregulation won't work in Oklahoma.
Tuesday's speakers, all largely opposed to deregulation, appeared during an educational symposium held for the state House of Representatives and sponsored by state consumer groups hoping to delay deregulation. The panel included no deregulation advocates.
Mark Cooper, director of research for the Consumer Federation of America, told the audience that deregulation has failed in California and other states -- and that Oklahoma has little chance of repeating the success of much-applauded Pennsylvania.
