Chicago-Based Truck Maker Unveils New Line in Las Vegas.

Feb. 18--LAS VEGAS--For Navistar International Inc., it's showtime.

In a giant "event center" where the Mandalay Bay hotel/casino hosts prize fights, hundreds of Navistar dealers waited last week for the unveiling of the truck-maker's new line. And Navistar's chief executive, John Horne, was ready to move some product.

Chicago-based Navistar flew the dealers here to the Las Vegas strip for a festive kickoff. The setting is appropriate, because the launch--which represents the culmination of a years-long, $900-million "next-generation vehicle" development project--is a big roll of the dice for Navistar.
