Orange County, Fla., Property Appraiser Joins Airport Board.

Feb. 16--As Orange County's property appraiser, Rich Crotty tenaciously chased Orlando International Airport's tax dollars.

He wanted the airport's Hyatt Regency Hotel to pay up, and in 1993 he dragged the defiant Greater Orlando Aviation Authority to court to collect.

Crotty won a few rounds, but the passage of time has brought appeal after appeal in the ongoing fight.

Now, through a twist of circumstance sparked by former County Chairman Mel Martinez's move to Washington, D.C., Crotty suddenly finds himself on the other side of the lawsuit.
