Bill in U.S. Senate Would Delay Marines' Tilt-Rotor Aircraft Program.

Feb. 8--WASHINGTON--Concern in Congress over development problems with the Marine Corps' new V-22 Osprey tilt-rotor aircraft took concrete form Wednesday as Sen. Russ Feingold, D-Wis., introduced a bill to delay the program a year.

"We owe it to our men and women in uniform to put their safety first," Mr. Feingold said in introducing the "Osprey Safety, Performance and Reliability Evaluation Act of 2001."

The radical hybrid aircraft has drawn increasing criticism in recent months.
