Mar. 7--DURST SWORN IN AS S.C. TOURISM DIRECTOR: John Durst was sworn in Tuesday as director of the S.C. Department of Parks, Recreation & Tourism.
Durst had served as director designate since last December, when former director Buddy Jennings retired to work for the South Carolina Farm Bureau Federation.
PRT maintains state parks and supports recreation programs around South Carolina. It also promotes tourism, which is the state's largest single industry.
