Mar. 16--A youth counselor from the Buffalo and Erie County Work Force Development Consortium has been named the new executive director of the Office of Urban Initiatives at the University at Buffalo.
Reginald Garner will assume leadership Monday of the office, a not-for-profit agency that focuses on helping women- and minority-owned small businesses in urban areas.
"First and foremost, I have to find more private funding," Garner said.
The Office of Urban Initiatives trains and helps new and existing business as well as guiding entrepreneurs through the process of getting bank loans.
