Wisconsin Lawmakers Fail to Agree on Wetland Development Moratorium.

Mar. 21--MADISON, Wis.--Legislative agreement on a wetland development moratorium will wait until at least May, after the state Assembly passed a plan Tuesday that conflicts with a Senate-passed moratorium.
The GOP-controlled Assembly voted 70-27 to protect wetlands exposed to development by a U.S. Supreme Court decision by imposing a moratorium on development through July 1.
Democrats complained the gesture was hollow, and unsuccessfully urged passage of a bill passed by the Democratic Senate that slaps an indefinite moratorium on such development.
