Conference Attendees Find Pinning Down Microsoft's .NET Strategy Isn't Easy.

Mar. 28--ANAHEIM, Calif. -- If you're having trouble figuring out .NET, Microsoft's bet-the-company strategy on the next generation of Internet computing, you're not alone.

Even after two days of briefings on upcoming Microsoft technologies, some computer types at the company's Windows Hardware Engineering Conference (WinHEC) here could not easily define the strategy.

"It's a good question. I don't think the notion of .NET has really transferred to the audience," said Markus Leberecht, a systems strategist with Force Computers in Munich. "I can only say it's probably a formula for service creation."
