Mar. 31--The line between sports and business hasn't blurred. It is long gone, like a Mark McGwire home run.
Inspired by the success of Michael Jordan, major sports figures today work to build brand awareness, just like AOL or Coca-Cola. For golfer Tiger Woods, business operates on the level of an individual international corporation.
"Tiger is a brand in and of itself," said Mark Steinberg, head of the marketing group managing Woods' career. "It is very, very important for us to remember that. That brand is affected by everything he does."
