Texas-Based Software Maker i2 Technologies Warns of Job Cuts, Earnings Slide.

Apr. 3--I2 Technologies Inc. of Farmers Branch said Monday that a nervous economy along with a pullback in spending by some clients could result in cuts of up to 600 jobs, or 10 percent of its workforce.

The company said the sagging business conditions would also cause earnings to fall short for the first quarter. I2 said it expects to earn 2 cents a share for the first quarter, compared with 5 cents a share in a Thomson Financial/First Call survey of 40 analysts.

In the first quarter of last year, i2 earned 4 cents a share.

The software company's revenue will also fall short of expectations, to an estimate of $355 million instead of $361 million....
