Gap Takes Vertical Approach to Its Stores at Dallas Mall.

Apr. 4--Gap Inc. is bringing all its stores under one roof -- a really big roof.

The company has leased 127,639 square feet at the southern end of the Dallas Galleria to house all of its brand names on three floors.

The San Francisco-based company, which operates the Gap, Old Navy and Banana Republic chains, is trying something new in the North Dallas shopping center by stacking its stores and giving them a common elevator and corridor-wide entrances that are usually reserved for major department stores.

Another similarity to anchor stores: The Gap will have exterior signs on the building that will be visible to drivers on the Dallas North Tollway...
