California Casinos Keep Raising Slot Manufacturers' Fortunes.

Apr. 6--California casinos will continue to generate a lucrative market for slot manufacturers, as the state's tribes build new casinos and replace slot machines at old ones, a Golden State tribal official said.
Depending upon the interpretation of a 2000 statewide ballot measure that legalized tribal casinos in California, the state's casinos could have anywhere from 45,000 to 214,000 slot machines, said Anthony Miranda, president of the Pechanga Development Corp. in Temecula, Calif.
The Strip has about 60,000 slot machines.
