Boeing to Produce Apache Helicopters for Israel Amid Middle East Violence.

Apr. 17--Boeing's $500 million contract to produce Apache helicopters for Israel is secure, following a federal investigation.

The U.S. State Department said it will not suspend arms shipments to Israel, essentially clearing the way for Boeing to execute the country's order for nine Apache AH-64D Longbow helicopters, which are built at the company's plant in Mesa, Ariz.

The State Department investigated Israel's compliance with the Arms Export Control Act. The act prohibits international sales of U.S.-made weapons for any purpose other than national security or self defense and gives the president power to suspend armament shipments. The investigation could...
