Delta Air Lines Posts $133 Million First-Quarter Loss.

Apr. 19--Delta Air Lines lost $133 million in the first three months of 2001, blaming its troubles on the weakening economy, a pilot strike at Comair and customers' concerns about the carrier's ongoing labor woes.

The nation's No. 3 airline has been losing between $3.2 million and $4 million a day in revenue since pilots at Comair, its regional subsidiary, walked off the job March 26, executives revealed Wednesday. And they predict revenue will drop another $300 million to $350 million in the year's second quarter, as the possibility nears of another strike by 9,800 mainline pilots.
