Bonneville Power Administration Likely to Keep Acting Official.

Apr. 20--Steve Wright, acting administrator of the Bonneville Power Administration since November, is likely to be asked to stay on the job.

U.S. Sen. Larry Craig of Idaho, the senior Republican in the Northwest delegation, is preparing to recommend to the White House and Department of Energy that Wright retain his post as a Bush administration appointee, Craig's spokesman Mike Tracy said Tuesday.

The BPA provides just under half of the Northwest's electricity through power generated by 29 federal dams and one nuclear power plant. Traditionally, the White House has followed Northwest congressional recommendations for the agency's top post.
