Las Vegas Convention Authority Approves Aramark's Food, Beverage Contract.

Apr. 25--Philadelphia-based Aramark Corp. was unanimously approved for a 15-year contract Tuesday to provide food and beverage services for the Las Vegas Convention Center, though certain provisions of the contract were restructured from its original proposal.

The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, which owns and operates the convention center, can terminate the contract after 10 years if the company performs unsatisfactorily, said Manny Cortez, president and chief executive officer of the authority.

"They're probably the strongest company in the country in terms of what they do, but the board felt we needed an out clause," Cortez said.
