Marketing Executive Is Promoted to No. 2 Post at Delta Air Lines.

May 2--Delta Air Lines today announced a top management shuffle that includes the promotion of a new No. 2 executive.

Fred Reid, who joined Delta in 1998 from Lufthansa and has been marketing chief, rises to the post of president and chief operating officer.

He will report to Chairman and Chief Executive Leo Mullin, who relinquishes the president title.

Vicki Escarra, currently executive vice president-customer service, will succeed Reid as chief marketing officer. Also, Mac Armstrong, executive vice president-operations, is retiring.

The second-in-command spot at Delta had been vacant since 38-year Delta veteran Maurice Worth retired...
