Orlando, Fla., Dealers Brace for Ford Tire Replacement.

May 24--Scores of Central Florida car dealers and tire companies began yanking the first of 13 million Firestone Wilderness AT tires from Ford vehicles Wednesday in a massive replacement program ordered by the nation's No. 2 carmaker.
Most Ford and Lincoln-Mercury dealerships said consumers seemed to be taking the surprise tire replacement calmly -- at least so far.
But dealers are bracing for a steady increase in customers and a steady decrease in replacement tires, a trend that could spark consumer anger as the replacement effort unfolds in the days and weeks ahead.
