Minneapolis Grain Exchange to Expand Agricultural Contracts to Help Farmers.

Jun. 2--The Minneapolis Grain Exchange will expand its offerings of major agricultural contracts that should help farmers and area grain processors protect their grain supplies from volatile price swings that occur in existing futures and options trading.

The member-owned exchange also began trading on Friday spring wheat options contracts that have different terms, or strike prices, from contracts traded in the past. It also proposed a new spring wheat options contract, called a serial options contract, that would expire a month before the spring wheat futures contract expires.

And for the first time, the 120-year-old exchange has also approved trading...
