Boeing to Work Alongside FAA to Improve Dated Air Traffic Control System.

Jun. 5--Both Boeing and the Federal Aviation Administration will roll out their plans Wednesday to cure the nation's delay-plagued air traffic control system.

The FAA's 10-year plan reportedly will include new air traffic routes, closer spacing of aircraft in flight and satellite-based air traffic control. Boeing spokesman Morrie Goodman said the company's plan will dovetail with the FAA's but will include even more fundamental changes to the decades-old air traffic system.

Boeing last November formed an air traffic management unit under veteran Boeing executive John Hayhurst to address the air traffic management system's shortcomings.
