Southern New England Telecommunications Raises Some Phone Rates in Connecticut.

Jun. 13--The state's dominant telephone company plans sharp hikes for certain toll calls, 1-800 service and specialized a la carte services.

Southern New England Telecommunications Corp. is informing certain residential customers to expect increases July 1.

Those customers who subscribe to SNET "automatic volume discount plan," for example, will see per-minute toll charges increase up to 43 percent for in-state calls and up to 13 percent for out-of-state calls.

One-time charges for three-way calling, missed call dialing, call again and call tracing services will rise 28 percent per use: from 75 cents to 95 cents. Customers who subscribe to such...
