British Homebuilder Readies to Dock with Murdoch.

Jun. 17--News International and Taylor Woodrow are drawing up plans for a huge mixed-use scheme, including luxury housing and offices, on a 40-acre site on the south bank of the Thames. The development could have a final value of up to UKpound 700 million.

The Convoys Wharf site in Deptford, south London was used to import paper, but was closed last year. It is wholly-owned by the British arm of Rupert Murdoch's publishing empire. A spokesman for Taylor Woodrow confirmed: "We are in exclusive talks with News International about the development potential of Convoys Wharf."
