Florida Medical Association Criticizes Blue Cross.

Jun. 20--The Florida Medical Association blasted Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida Inc. on Tuesday for terminating the contracts of about 120 doctors statewide, including as many 70 in Central Florida.
The medical association, which represents 16,000 doctors statewide, said it was filing a complaint with the state Insurance Department that accuses Blue Cross of breaking the law when it dropped a popular Bradenton doctor in March. The doctor, Carlos Mendez, filed a lawsuit last week against Blue Cross, alleging that the contract termination caused him to lose thousands of patients and ruined his practice.
