Kanawha County, W.Va., Bailiff Challenges Ban on Security Guard Work.

Jun. 20--A Kanawha County bailiff is suing his boss for denying him the right to work as a security guard for area merchants.
Jimmie Lee Mangus, who has worked for Circuit Judge Herman Canady, since 1991 said he is the only bailiff who is "greatly affected" by an order Sheriff Dave Tucker entered last week, barring bailiffs from working any off-duty jobs.
Bill Forbes, former Kanawha County prosecuting attorney, represents Mangus. Forbes and Tucker are known enemies and have clashed over the years over an investigation into accounts kept in the Sheriff's Department for mentally incompetent residents who can't look after their own money.
