Redfield, S.D., Fire Department Given Jet Ski to Aid in Water Rescues.

Jun. 21--If need be, the Redfield Volunteer Fire Department is ready to take to the water this summer.
This spring the department was given a Kawasaki JET SKI by C&S Motorsports of Aberdeen. The department will get to use the personal watercraft for a year to help in rescue situations.
Redfield Fire Chief Rich Gruenwald said the department was required to purchase a trailer for the JET SKI, which cost about $500, and pay to insure it.
Gruenwald said they could have used a JET SKI earlier this year, when water on a Spink County road washed away one driver. Crews ended up hiring a helicopter to rescue the stranded motorist, who spent about three hours in icy-cold...
