Developer to Announce Major Tenant for Downtown Denver Office Tower.

Jun. 28--Hines Interests has landed a major tenant for its proposed 42-story office tower downtown.

The Houston-based real estate developer is expected to announce today that Duke Energy Field Services has agreed to take five floors in the high-rise.

The announcement is a coup for Hines. The company beat out other developers in signing a lease commitment with a large tenant and is steering a tenant away from rival developer Brookfield Properties.

"People need to recognize what a breakthrough this is," said Doug McKinnon, vice president for Hines. "This is the first sizable commitment that anybody with a downtown building has been able to get."
