Pentagon Keeps Funds for V-22 and F-22 Aircraft Under Proposed Budget.

Jun. 28--WASHINGTON--Major Texas defense contractors will fare well if Congress approves a revised Pentagon budget released Wednesday.
The new plan wouldn't enlarge the major aircraft programs that provide thousands of jobs in Fort Worth and Dallas, but it would assure their continuation at or near current levels in the fiscal year that begins Oct. 1.
Notably, the proposed budget would provide more than $5 billion for a dozen more V-22 Osprey tilt-rotor troop transports built by Bell Helicopter Textron Inc. and Boeing Co., and 13 more F-22 Raptor fighters built by Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Co.
