New Owner Gives TWA Planes a Face Lift.

Jun. 29--The Americanization of Trans World Airlines took another step Thursday when TWA and new owner American Airlines Inc. showed off a new airplane paint scheme.

And the new paint job looks a lot like American's -- only with TWA's name on the tail and side instead of American's. In smaller print under the TWA logo, it says "an American Airlines company."

All of TWA's airplanes will sport the polished aluminum skin and lengthwise stripes of red, white and blue like on American's aircraft when work is finished by first quarter 2002.
