Economist Nets UKpound 30 Million By Cashing in Goldman Sachs Shares.

Jul. 10--New Labourite economist Gavyn Davies, a friend of Chancellor Gordon Brown, has netted UKpound 30 million over the past year by cashing windfall shares in his employer Goldman Sachs.
Davies is head of economic research at the investment bank and was controversially appointed vice-chairman of the BBC last year.
He is one of the group of former partners in the firm, nicknamed "Goldmine Sachs," who have cashed in shares worth nearly UKpound 3 billion since it floated two years ago.
His wife, Sue Nye, is Gordon Brown's assistant, and the couple own two luxury homes, including the award-winning Baggy House near Croyde on a spectacular Devon clifftop....
