Boston-Based Internet Quality Firm to Pull Out of British Market.

Jul. 15--Gomez, the respected internet quality measurement firm, has all but shut up shop in Britain.

The decision to pull the plug on the UK operation was taken on cost grounds. The UK version of the Gomez website is to survive, but will now be run from the firm's Boston headquarters.

"We are closing the facility," says UK managing director Matt Stamski. "It is an operational move -- clients will not be affected. It was a business decision, taken because of operating costs. We gain an economic advantage by moving to the States."

Gomez prides itself in its "scientific" analysis of corporate activity on the internet. It uses between 120 and 300 criteria...
