Jul. 30--RANTOUL, Ill.--State environmental officials in Pennsylvania said there have been no environmental complaints lodged against a pork processing plant there which is the model for one proposed for central Illinois.

American Premium Foods, a co-op of 247 family farmers, hopes to build a new $25 million pork processing plant either in Rantoul, Clinton or Gridley later this year.

The co-op's board of directors hopes to make its decision within the next month.

American Premium Chief Operating Officer Jim Burke said the Illinois plant will be modeled after one in Hatfield, Pa.
