Boeing's Transferred Workers May Benefit from Incentives in Texas, Florida.

Aug. 1--Boeing Co.'s transfer of 1,100 space-related jobs from California to Cape Canaveral and Houston will probably benefit from economic incentives in Florida and Texas.

Mike Mott, vice president and general manager of Boeing's human spaceflight and engineering division, said the company is in talks with both states about incentive packages that would cover most, if not all, of the costs of relocating the jobs.

"I'm not sure Boeing is going to end up bearing any of that [relocation costs] right now," Mott said during a conference call Tuesday. He would not comment on the size or nature of the incentives.
