US Airways' Restructuring Plan Centers on Smaller Jets, Workers' Concessions.

Aug. 16--NEW YORK--US Airways unveiled a restructuring plan Wednesday that focuses on a vast increases in smaller jets and concessions from unionized workers as it tries to rebound from a failed merger with United Airlines.
For Charlotte, where US Airways has its busiest hub, the plan foresees little immediate change. New, non-stop flights to Austin and San Antonio, Texas, will be added before the end of the year, and Portland, Ore., will likely be added later. A buildup of Caribbean service will continue. And the smaller, more cost-effective regional jets will replace bigger jets on some routes.
