West Sacramento, Calif.-Based Grocery Chain Buys Three Stores in New Mexico.

Aug. 22--Raley's grocery chain, moving ahead with a plan to broaden its footprint in nearby states, said Tuesday it bought three stores in New Mexico from Furr's Supermarkets Inc.

The acquisition of stores in Albuquerque, Rio Rancho and Taos marks the fourth major purchase in nine years for the West Sacramento-based grocery company.

Those purchases have included 19 Albertson's outlets in Las Vegas, two Lucky and six Albertson's stores in New Mexico, the entire Nob Hill chain operating in the Bay Area and Sacramento's Bel Air chain purchased from the Wong family in 1992.
