Merger Turns Tulsa, Okla.-Based Americomm into Empire Petroleum.

Aug. 21--Americomm Resources Corp. of Tulsa announced Monday that it merged with its wholly owned subsidiary, Empire Petroleum Corp. The merger was effective Wednesday.

The corporate name has been changed to Empire Petroleum Corp., the company said. The Americomm entity no longer exists, and the company will no longer be based in Tulsa.

"We did a short-form merger," said Albert E. Whitehead, an Americomm principal. "Bascially, what we did was do away with Empire and change the name of Americomm to Empire. Americomm sounded like a dot-com."
