Auto Parts Chain to Consolidate Roanoke, Va., Facilities.

Aug. 22--The ink is barely dry on Advance Auto Parts' recent deal to acquire Discount Auto Parts Inc. of Florida, and already Advance Auto is planning one of several strategic moves.
Roanoke-based Advance Auto, the nation's second-largest auto parts dealer, plans to vacate space at three of its five corporate locations in Roanoke, and consolidate them at Crossroads Mall.
Advance Auto said Tuesday it will lease more than 60,000 square feet in the space once occupied by Waccamaw at the mall. Waccamaw closed its Roanoke location in June. HomePlace of America Inc., which operates Waccamaw, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in January.
