Siemens Westinghouse Power to Provide Equipment for New Plant in Brazil.

Aug. 29--Siemens Westinghouse Power Corp. has reeled in a $200 million contract -- one of its biggest so far this year -- to provide power generation equipment for a major new plant in energy-starved Brazil, the Orlando company said Tuesday.

The plant in Rio de Janeiro state, a combined-cycle unit that will run on gas and steam, will be the largest of its kind in Brazil when completed in late 2003, officials said. It is Siemens Westinghouse's fifth Brazilian power project in recent years.
